Art started Art Janes Insurance back in 1962. His vision was to provide South Hillsborough County with an insurance agency they could trust. Art has seen his vision grow into a reality.

Art Janes Insurance is the oldest and largest agency in what is now called South Shore. Art Janes Insurance serves several thousand personal lines clients in and around the Hillsborough County area. In 1988, Art saw the community was in need of an insurance agency that specialized in commercial insurance so he started Gulf Coast Commercial Insurance, which not only serves the business needs of our local community, but also serves clients all over the State of Florida and several out of state clients.

John Yoho, principal Commercial Agent for Gulf Coast Commercial Insurance, started as a school music teacher. After being exposed to the business of insurance from a family member in 1985, he decided to make it his life’s calling. John prides himself on keeping abreast of all the latest potential pitfalls that confront the business owner on a daily basis, and is conversant with all applicable methods to avoid, minimize and transfer risk. He holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor, a comprehensive and on-going certification which requires annual schooling. John has been a CIC since 1990.

Ashley is a licensed General Lines agent. She has extensive experience in business development, sales, and social media marketing. She is a Ruskin native and has 2 kids, Kate and Chase. She loves to fish, boat, paddle board, and travel.

Brooke is a Texas native who has lived in both Florida and Colorado over the last ten years.

Recently, she moved back to the Ruskin area and enjoys spending her spare time with her fiancé and two dogs either on the boat or on a hike through any state park.

Deb has lived in Florida most of her life. Prior to joining the GCCI team, she worked for the school system for 14 years. She has been married for 40 years. She and her husband have two sons. Both boys graduated from Lennard High School. In her spare time, she enjoys working in her yard and being outdoors.

Wesley began his insurance career in 1979, helping new and existing Personal Lines clients find the right coverage for their needs. After earning his Certified Insurance Counselor’s Designation in 1992, he began working more closely with Commercial Clients. He now oversees the day-to-day operations of both Art Janes Insurance and our Commercial Agency, Gulf Coast Commercial Insurance.

Courtney works with Kathy Williams & John Yoho as the CSR for Gulf Coast Commercial Insurance. She is a graduate of Hillsborough Community College with a degree in Nursing, which she practiced for 6 years. After taking a step back from healthcare, she joined the team at GCCI in 2017. Courtney is currently enrolled in school to obtain an advanced degree in Biology. She takes pride in helping clients by providing the best customer service. She assists policyholders with new and existing policies as well as submitting policy changes and claims.

Myda has over 20 years of administrative and customer service experience. Prior to joining Art Janes Insurance, Myda has held positions in the healthcare and construction industries. She is excited to put her years of experience to work servicing our customers’ insurance needs. 

Myda lives in Wimauma with her spouse and 4 children. In their free time they like to boat, ride their 4 wheeler and side by side, and spending time with friends.

Angel is a CSR at Art Janes Insurance. Angel has years of experience in the Customer Service industry and is eager to expand her accomplishments in the field of insurance. She is a true Florida native that loves the beach, fishing, and anything in the sun. She is also a certified Dog Mom to her little Frenchie, Biscuit. She prides herself on providing exceptional customer service and quick, competitive quotes.
